Stick To The Basics, They Never Change
Posted on December 9th, 2016
Today we’re going to be talking about management. It doesn’t matter what business you’re in, whether you are in the martial arts business, fitness business, yoga business, there are certain business basics that you follow. There are certain protocols or certain things that you do each and every day to run your business.

As you grow your team, it’s really important that you train your team and staff on how each of these things are done. You’re going to have certain ways you do them now and you’re going to improve them, but you’re always going to have the basics. One of the things that I’m going to encourage you to do is to make sure that you’re always training them on the basics.

Now not only do you need to train them on the basics, you should be training them ahead of time, because obviously you should not be training your staff on your live customers. But at some point, they have to be tested.

So you train them. You train them some more. You test them. If they pass, let them go live. They’re going to get better and then you’re going to bring them back. You’re going to train them some more. You’re going to give them some feedback. You’re going to do the same thing over and over and over again. Make sure that you’re always going through this natural process of teaching, training, and testing.

The basics essentially will never change. You may change the process, you may change the systems of how you do things, but basics are basics and they never change. A lot of people say, “Well, when will we be done training our team on basics?” The truth is you’re never going to be done.

The truth is you’re going to tell them today. You’re going to tell them tomorrow. You’re going to tell them three years from now. Your job is to continue to tell them over and over and over, to encourage them, to get them better at the basics because basics are what win, no matter what business you’re in.
